The Hastings croquet player, Mrs Lange, established a New Zealand record last week when she won her fourth title in the North Island croquet tournament at Hastings. In the final of the open championship she beat Mrs Wadsworth (Auckland), 26-16, 18-26, 26-20, and in the open doubles, partnered by Mrs Bennett, she beat Mesdames Watkins (Hastings) and Mitchell (Napier), 26-23. Mrs Lange also beat Mrs Reynolds (Christchurch) in the women’s championship, 26-16, 26-16, and in the handicap singles, 26-8.
