U.N. VOTE ON KOREA

Stand of Western Powers

(Rec. 11 p.m.) NEW YORK, Nov. 30. The Western Powers who have lined up behind the Indian compromise plan for a Korean truce, because it contains machinery to . protect war prisoners who refuse to be repatriated to Communist areas, have been pressing for a vote on the resolution.

They now hope they can get the vote by late tomorrow, in spite of threats by the Soviet Foreign Minister, Mr Andrei Vyshinsky, to make another long speech. He nas attempted to get an assortment of Soviet principles incorporated in the Indian plan to nullify the Western stand.

He called the Indian plan as it stands “rotten.”

An Indian spokesman said no revisions had been made in the Indian resolution since those agreed on by the West late last week.
