N.Z. TROOPS IN KOREA

Praise By Minister SYDNEY, December 1. The leader of the New Zealand Parliamentary delegation to Korea, the Minister of Defence, Mr T. L. Macdonald, said today that New Zealand troops in Korea were well equipped, particularly with winter clothing. The delegation, which arrived in Sydney today from Korea, will leave for New Zealand on Wednesday night. Mr Macdonald said the New Zealand troops were in stout heart, but like all troops in that type of country they would be glad to get home again. Senior United States officers had told the delegation that the Commonwealth Division, which included the New Zealanders, was probably the best division in Korea. There was still friendly rivalry between New Zealand and Australian troops, but they co-operated excellently and there was a strong bond of friendship between them, Mr Macdonald said.
