PROPOSED UNION OF CHURCHES
PRESBYTERIAN ASSEMBLT EXPRESSES VIEWS (New Zealand Press Association)
NEW PLYMOUTH, November 11. That there were no insuperable obstacles that would make a corporate union impossible between the Presbyterian, Methodist and Congregational Churches of New Zealand was agreed to by the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church New Plymouth today. The Assembly also affirmed its conviction that tne consummation of the union was » “matter of increasing urgency.” By taking this step, the Presbyterian Church has now opened the wa for negotiation between the MethOdjJ* and Congregational Churches on tne question of a possible union of three churches.
