Strength of Methodist Church.—Use statistical secretary of the Methodist Church (the Rev. W. C. Jenkin), in presenting his report to the conference at Nelson, said that there were 26,937 members attached to the church. This was an increase of 2 per cent, on last year. New members totalled 1414' for the year. There were 228 ministers and probationers in the church, 41 home missionaries. 11 deaconesses, and 656 local preachers, Mr Jenkin said.
