ILLEGAL LOTTERY CONDUCTED
MAN FINED £l5O (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, November 11. A fine of £l5O was imposed on Peter William EH, a salesman, of Porirua, by Mr J. B. Thompson, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court after he had pleaded guilty to starting an illegal lottery.
He was previously convicted or* September 3t) last for starting an illegal lottery. Detective-Sergeant W. H. Craigie said that Ell had been followed bv detectives into a local printing works. The detectives saw him sitting at a table with a large number of result sheets, and he admitted running a lottery.
