KENNEDY’S BUSH
PRESERVATION AND RE-ESTABLISHMENT Immediate steps to preserve and reestablish the native bush at Kennedy’s Bush were authorised last evening by the City Council. The Government will be asked to contribute towards the cost of £750 for repairs to and erection of fences. Planting will be carried out and the City Engineer asked to prepare plans for a caretaker’s residence at the Sign of the Bellbird, similar to the house approved for the Sign of the Kiwi. The purchase of two small reserves privately owned will be investigated and an appeal for assistance made to such bodies as the Summit Road Scenic Preservation Society and the! Forest and Bird Protection Society.
