(Rec. 9 p.m.) VANCOUVER, Oct. 29. Canada would strive for agreement on a realistic solution to the sterling area crisis when the Commonwealth Prune Ministers met in London next the Canadian Finance Minister (Mr Douglas Abbott) said today. “What we all want to see is a healthy expanding trade on a firm and reliable base with these countries which for so long were regarded as our principal market as well as an important source of supply?’ Mr Abbott, who was addressing the Vancouver Board of Trade, said import restrictions and lack of convertibility of currencies were causing trade problems in many parts of the world but these were matters which could not be corrected by some decision of policy in Canada.
