OFFICIAL FORECASTS "The Press” Special Service WELLINGTON. October 21. The weather torecast for Canterbury Issued at 9 p.m. by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, and dealing with the 27 hours following the time of issue. Situation: a depression south-east of the South Island is moving away, and an anti-cyclone is over the Tasman, Forecast: moderate southerly winds; weather cloudy and cold, with passing showers, but clearing gradually. WEST COAST The forecast for the West Coast of the South Island is:— Light or moderate southerlies; weather fine, with mild day temperatures. CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER Rain fell intermittently in Christchurch yesterday. There was a strong south-west Wind, and the maximum temperature was 60.2 degrees. At midnight, the sky was cloudy, and a light south-west wind was blowing. The temperature was 45.8 degrees. The barometer, at 30.092 inches (1019 millibars), was falling • slowly.
