SHOTS FIRED AT U.S. PLANE

Berlin Incident BERLIN, October 8. A United States aircraft is reported to have been fired on by Soviet aircraft over the Soviet Zone and to have landed damaged in Berlin today. Another report said the plane, a fourengined American Red Cross aircraft, had been shot from the ground. Neither report could be immediately confirmed by United States officials, who said the craw was being interrogated. Last April. Soviet fighter planes fired on a French civil airliner, when it was alleged to have left the air corridor on its way to Berlin. Two German passengers and one French steward were injured. Russia claimed that the plane had violated East German territory, and the French said the attack had occurred within the international air corridor.
