FOREIGN EXCHANGE IMPROVES (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, October 7. The Reserve Bank’s holidings of sterling exchange recovered during the week ended October 1, rising by £1,580,000 to £ 19,422,000. Other exchange, however, fell by £454,000. State deposits with the bank rose by £4,428,000 to reach £10,859,000, and trading banks’ deposits fell by £1,527,000 to £54,502,000. Investments rose by another £4,000,000 to £44,182,000.
