After pleading not guilty in the Invercargill Magistrate’s Court today to five of seven charges of committing false pretences by the issue of valueless cheques, Franci* William Windsor, aged 28. of no fixed abode, was committed for trial in the Supreme Court. The accused elected to be tried by a jurv on each of the seven charges, and to have each charge heard sepWlridsor was not represented by counsel, and conducted his cwh case. In each case the accused was charged with issuing a valueless cheque for £lO, drawn on the Bank of New Zealand. Oamaru. to different firms in Southland, and with obtaining goods and money.
