CONFERENCE TO BEGIN TODAY

'New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, October 6. The conference of the National Council of Women of New Zealand will begin at Paraparaumu tomorrow. The Minister of Social Welfare (Mis G. H. Ross) will open the conference, which it is claimed represents more than 120,000 New Zealand women. There will be sessions through the week until Friday afternoon. In addition to a long programme of remits dealing with such subjects as women’s rights to jury service, equal pay for equal work, and welfare of women and children, the conference has to consider reports to the International Council of Women, which is said to be an official source of information for UNESCO and the Food and Agriculture Organisation.
