N. B. HOLLAND’S VIEW OF SUSPENSION
“ WEE BIT HARSHLY TREATED ” (New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, October 5. “I think I was a wea bit harshly treated,” said N. B. Holland, New Zealand’s leading jockey, who returned by flying-boat from Sydney on Saturday. “A severe reprimand would have been enough." Holland was suspended for two months for careless riding at Flemington on September 15. His appeal was later dismissed by the Victoria Racing Club’s committee. “It was unfortunate I was suspended,” said Holland. “I was a visitor to Melbourne, and having my first ride at Flemington. Beau Shaw was a green horse which had run erratically with leading horsemen earlier.” He said he had a very fair hearing from the club, and -members wished to see him ride there again. Holland hopes to be riding in Auckland next Saturday.
