ACCIDENTS

FISHERMAN’S BODY FOUND (New Zealand Press Association) INVERCARGILL, October 6. Searchers found the body of a fisherman at noon today in 25ft of water underneath a boat moored close to the eastern section of the main wharf at Bluff. The fisherman, who had been missing for 30 hours, was: Ivan Small, of Crinan street, Invercargill. It is believed that Mr Small was drowned while trying to board the Bluff vessel Scout, in which he was employed, on Sunday morning. CYCLIST INJURED Lawrence William Gargett, of 2 Akaroa street, suffered head injuries when he was knocked from his cycle by a car at 6 p.m. yesterday. He was taken to the Christchurch Public Hospital, where his condition last evening was reported to be satisfactory.
