American Contracts To Be Favoured (Ree. 11 p.m.) WASHINGTON, October .4. The United States Munitions Board, which is responsible for administering the “Buy American Act” passed by Congress during the last session, today published the details of how the act would be administered in connexion with the procurement of wool, wool blend or partwool textiles for the United States armed forces.

The • board announced that con-> tractors supplying such domestic textiles would be favoured in the award of contracts, and that these contractors would be allowed to bid 10 per cent, higher than manufacturers offering similar goods made from foreign wools. The board said the 10 per cent, differential was not permanently fixed, but that it reserved the right to raise or lower this differential at any time, and without prior notice.
