HOUSE THREATENED BY FIRE

OUTBREAK IN SHED AT GERALDINE (From Our Own Reporter) GERALDINE, October 4. A wooden shed alongside a twostorey building, part of which is a house occupied by Mr R. Bailey, on the corner of Talbot and Cox streets. Geraldine, was gutted by a fire which broke out this morning, and only hard work by members of the Geraldine Volunteer Fire Brigade saved the house from destruction. The walls of the kitchen and a balcony of the house were charred. The brigade arrived at the fire shortly after the alarm was given and a lead of hose was quickly brought into action. By this time the flames had a hold on the wooden walls of the kitchen and the balcony.
