PREMIERSHIP OF CEYLON
REPORTED DISPUTE ON SELECTION (Rec. 9 pin.) COLOMBO, Sept. 9. Sir John Koteiawala, Ceylon’s Minister of Transport, Was reported to-day to be hurrying home by air from New York ahd he may have beeh asked to resign,, The Governor-General, on the advice of the Prime Minister (Mr Dudley Senanayake) is - reported to have requested the resignation of Sir John Kotelawhla last week When the latter was Oh his way to the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association meeting in Ottawa.
These political developments were the result of the publication by a Colombo English language weekly newspaper of a diary entitled "The Premier Stakes” attributed to Sir John Koteiawala. It recorded impressions of incidents leading to the appointment Of Mr Sehanayake as Prime Minister after the death of his father, although Sir John Koteiawala was next senior ih the Government party and Leader of the House of Representatives. The diary was published jdst after Sir John Koteiawala left for Cgnada. It is reported that Mr Senanayake is awaiting the Minister’s return to discuss the matter,
