FINED FOR DRUNKENNESS Joseph Percival Corley, aged 53, a • labourer, pleaded guilty to a charge of being found drunk in Manchester street on September 8, having been once previously convicted for a similar offence within the last six months. He was fined £2. in default 48 hours* imprisonment. REMANDED Samuel Charles Stone, aged 39. a labourer, was further remanded to September 11 on a charge that on April 10 at Roxburgh, he 'stole a radio, valued at £l9 5s 6d. the property of Howarths Radio and Electrical Supplies. Donald Edwad Hancock, aged 19, a seaman, was remanded to Thursday on a charge of deserting from the British ship. Dominion Monarch, at Wellington on March 13. JUDGMENT FOR DEFENDANT Rose Wilson, a married woman, did not appear when the case was called in which she claimed £l5O from J. O. Oakley (Mr J. E. Millar), for damages to a car. On the application of Mr Millar, judgment was given for the defendant. JUDGMENT FOR PLAINTIFF The Pacific Electrical Company, Ltd. (Mr E. B. E. Taylor), claimed £9 12s 9d from Margaret Yates, a- married woman (Mr W. F. Brown), for parts for and repairs to a washing machine. Judgment was given for the plaintiff for the amount claimed.
