When the Christchurch Fire Board at its meeting last evening was discussing the incidence of malicious false alarms, Mr C. Baldwin saitjl he kn w a woman who had confessed to Deing responsible for a false alarm. Her oven caught fire. She was alone in the house. She rushed out, rode her bicycle, to the alarm button, pressed it, and' rushed home again, but had forgotten to wait to tell the brigade where the fire vas. Mr T. M. Charters: “It would seem that the brigade was done brown, as well as the meat.”,
