BEEF SHIPMENTS TO U.S.

REPORT ON QUALITY OF MEAT FROM N.Z. (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, August 18. The first two shipments of New Zealand beef to Bo to the United States under the terms of the meat exchange agreement have been well received and are now being distributed to butchers. The Canadian Government. which is handling the shipments on behalf of the Governments of New Zealand and Britain, advised the Canadian High Commissioner’s office at Wellington to-day that reports received on the condition and quality of the meat were good, though butchers had not yet had time to make detailed reports. The first shipment of 4000 tons arrived two weeks ago at New York second shipment of about the same size arrived a few days later at Boston in the Devon. The whole of the shipment from the Devon had been cleared, but part of the Runic s shipment apparently had, _l p for re -examination.
