SCHOOL INSPECTORS’ CONFERENCE
12 AUSTRALIANS TO ATTEND (New Zealrnd Press Association) AUCKLAND, August 18. Twelve Australian delegates to the biennial Australasian conference of school inspectors which will open in Christchurch this week were welcomed to Auckland to-day at a reception given by the Mayor (Sir John Allum) and Lady Allum. This is the first time the conference has been held in New Zealand. Among those present was the president of the New Zealand Association of School Inspectors (Mr H. G. Johnston), who will preside at the conference. Most of the Australian party, which includes two women, arrived $t Auckland by air yesterday. The party will leave by air for Christchurch on i Thursday. The conference will be opened on Friday by the Minister of Education (Mr R. M. Algie) and will end the following Tuesday. 1
