COAL OUTPUT IN N.S.W.
SYDNEY, March 4. The Minister of National Development (Senator W. H. Spooner) said today that New South Wales coal production from January 1 to February 15 rose by 33.6 per cent, compared with thiit for the corresponding period of 1951, which was a record year. He added: "Good Work is being done this year throughout the industry. Some public utilities are getting their requirements instead of living from hand to mouth. It must be remembered, however, that last year’s production, though good, vzas 3.000,000 tons short of requirements. Even if me present rate is maintained we shall be short of requirements for 1952.”
