BRITISH FOREIGN POLICY

Sir,—We are grateful for your extended report of the debate last week in the House of Commons on British policy and of the exchange of remarks between Mr Churchill and Mr Morrison. Whatever the Labour Government thought when it was in office, and whatever the Conservatives as a party think now. there seems evidence that the Labour Party, and even possibly Mr Churchill, have become Bevanised instead of Bevinised, as your clever cartoonist Low indicated some weeks ago. (For some reason I was censored in essaying to describe this cartoon over the air.) Incidentally, one wonders if, and one hopes that, Mr Holland supports Mr Churchill in dissociating Great Britain’s foreign policy from the war-mongering utterances of Mr Dulles.—Yours, etc., J.J. March 3, 1952.
