OIL INDUSTRY IN PERSIA
Hope Of Dollar Loan Vanishes TEHERAN, February 17. A Persian Government spokesman said to-day that Persia had ceased to hope for a 25,000,000-dollar loan from the American Export and Import Bank. The spokesman said that while the bank had not definitely told Persia that it would not give the loan, reports' received by the Persian Government from Washington revealed that the bank was making one excuse after another. Efforts to solve the oil question continued to-day between the Persian mixed oil commission and a group of senators on one hand and the International Bank mission on the other. A Government spokesman said that if a workable formula were found during the discussions, then and then only would further discussions take place with the Prime Minister (Dr. Mussadiq).
