THE LYING IN STATE OF KING GEORGE VI.—The solemn scene during the lying in state in Westminster Hall. Keeping watch at the catafalque are two Gentlemen at Arms, four officers of the Life Guards, and four Yeomen of the Guard. On the coffin is the Imperial State Crown. In the three days of the lying in state 305,806 persons passed through the hall to pay homage to their King.
