Sir,—Regarding the Government’s sickness emergency benefit scheme, which was recently dealt with by the Prime Minister, to assist persons who have no other income aoart from their benefit, when it comes to meeting the high cost of living would the registrar of toe Social Security Department kindly state the true position about toe amount a person may have which would debar an applicant from benefiting from toe scheme? What is toe limit of finance allowed the applicant?—Yours, etc., GOVERNMENT EMERGENCY SCHEME. January 18, 1952.
