SOUTHERLY Number Three for 1951 (Angus and Robertson. Edited bv R. G. Howarth) contains an appreciation of the Melbourne poet and critic “Furqley Maurice” (Frank Wilmot), a series of poems by J. R. Rowland entitled “A Travel Journal,” and an article on the novelist Eleanor Dark. A short story on the subject of the Bar, other shorter poems, and a discussion of Australian literary magazines, together with reviews and correspondence, complete an interesting number.
