British Tourist Trader—Tourist traffic from New Zealand to Britain in 1951 was 20 per cent higher than In the previous year. The tourist trade maintained its leading position ss the largest individual dollar-earn-ing “export.” There were more than 700,000 visitors, including 148.000 from the Dominions and colonies. 170,000 from Canada and America, and 386,000 from the Continent. Britain's earnings from tourists were £104,000,000. —London. January 24.
