(Rec. 11.20 p.m.) SYDNEY, January 18. A powerful New South 'Wales batting side was dismissed for 228 in the first innings of a Sheffield Shield match against Western Australia to-day. After Barnes. Moroney and Miller had been dismissed for a few runs, Burke, Benaud and Flockton staged a recovery. The veteran Western Australian bowler, Puckett, captured his hundredth wicket in Sheffield Shield cricket. Scores were:— New South Wales: first innings, 288 (Burke 40, Flockton 47; Puckett four for 76).
