BANK AGREES NOT TO ACCEPT CHEQUES SYDNEY. December 29. The Commonwealth Bank has granted the request by Mr Laurence Short, national secretary of the Federated Ironworkers Association, that it should not accept any cheques signed by association officials ousted ftom office by the Arbitration Court Mr Short made the request yesterday after Mr Justice Dunphy had signed .an order made by full Arbitration Court reaffirming Mr Short as national secretary and putting om of office the associations national president (Mr J. M McKay), the sen ior vice-president (Mr P. McHenry), and the assistant national secretary (Mr L. J. McPhillips).
