PRIVATE INVESTITURE AT TIMARU
MR G. DASH HONOURED (From Our Own Reporter) TIMARU, December 13. At a private investiture in Timaru this afternoon the Governor-General (Lord Freyberg) invested Mr George Dash, of Waimate, with the insignia of a Member of the Order of the British Empire (M.8.E.) which he was awarded in the King’s Birthday Honours this year.
The investiture was made in Timaru because Mr Dash’s health was not good enough to enable him to travel to Wellington for the public investiture earlier this year. Mr D. C. Kidd, member of Parliament for Waimate, and Mrs Kidd, were the only other persons present.
