CAREERS FOR BOYS AND GIRLS CAREERS FOR BOYS AND GIRLS A career in the PUBLIC SERVICE can offer opportunities for promotion to high executive and administrative posts. Many of to-day’s Departmental Heads started their careers as clerical cadets. Applications for clerical cadetships on the permanent staff of the Public Service are now being received from boys and girls leaving school this year. There are vacancies in most Departments and applicants may nominate the Department of their choice. The conditions of employment are:— SALARY : Minimum commencing salary with three years’ secondary education £2lO (£4/0/7 p.w.) Minimum commencing salary with School Certificate. £245 (£4/14/- p.w.) LODGING ALLOWANCES : Where cadets accept an appointment away from their home generous lodging allowances are paid.
