OFFICIAL FORECASTS “The Press" Special Service WELLINGTON, September 27. The weather forecast for Canterbury Issued at 9 p.m. by the Meteorological Office. Wellington, and dealing with the 27 hours after the time of issue, is:— Situation: an extensive anti-cyclone to the east extends over the country, and an area of low pressure in the central Tasman is filling up. Forecast: light to moderate northerly winds; cloudy, with some light drizzle over the alps and on the coast, but fair weather over the inland plains; moderate to mild temperatures. Outlook: becoming generally fair. WEST COAST The forecast for the West Coast of the South Island is:— Light to moderate northerly winds continuing; dull and mild. with periods of rain. Outlook: rain during Saturday. CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER The weather in Christchurch yesterday was fine but overcast, with a light northeast breeze There was occasional light drizzle in the morning. At midnight, the sky was overcast, and a light north-east wind was blowing. The temperature was 50.6 degrees, and the barometer, at 29.923 Inches (1013.3 millibars), was falling unsteadily.
