WALLSEND MINE IDLE FOR DAY
STOP-WORK MEETING HELD (From Our Own Reporter) GREYMOUTH, September 27. The Wallsend State Mine was idle to-day for the sixth time since the miners’ strike ended as a result of an extended stop-work meeting. No statement has been issued about the stop-work meeting. Twice m the last few weeks tlie miners have stopped work for a dav as a protest aeainst "victimisation” by the management. The secretary of the union (Mr R. Ross) declined to say whether to-day’s meeting had any connexion with the previous stoppages Mr Ross would not discuss the stopwork meeting. He said that he thought work would be resumed in the mine to-morrow
