TEAMS’ EVENT WON BY CANTERBURY COLLEGE
The Canterbury provincial amateur fencing teams’ championship, which was held during the week-end at the Royal New Zealand Air Force station. Wigram. was won by the Canterbury University College team. The Christchurch Swords Club team was second, from Boys' High School A. The following abbreviations are used in the results:—Christchurch Swords Club, C.S.C.; Canterbury University College. C.U.C.; Boys’ High School, 8.H.5.; Timaru Tim. Results were:— Men’s Events Teams’ Championship. C.S.C. beat B.H.S. A by 10 points; C.U.C. beat B. A by 13 points to 3; B.H.S. B beat Tim. by 10 joints to 6; C.U.C. beat Tim. by 16 points to 0; C.S.c. beat B.H.S. B by 15 points to 1: B.H.S. A beat Tim. by 12 points to 4; C.U.C. beat C.S.C. by 9 points to 7; C.S.C. beat Tim. by 14 points to 2; B.H.S. A beat B.H.S. B by 9 points to 7; C.U.C. beat B.H.S. B by 14 points to 2. Final result in teams’ event: C.U.C. 1, C. 2, B.H.S. A 3. Individual Foil Championship.— P. Temple (8.H.5.) 1, W. Irvine (C.U.C.) 2, D. Nunn (8.H.5.) and E. Cox (C.S.C.) (equal) 2. Epee Championship.—E. Cox (C.S.C.) 1, T. Bourke (C.U.C.) 2, W. Irvine (C.U.C.) 3. Sabre Championship.—E. Cox (C.S.C.) 1, T. Bourke (C.U.C.) 2, W. Irvine (C.U.C.) 3.
