PUBLIC SPEAKING CONTEST
SECONDARY SCHOOL PUPILS
(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, September 7. The finals of the Overseas League’s public speaking contest for secondary school pupils were held in Wellington last evening. The winner. Morva Jones (St. Dominic's College. Dunedin) was awarded the Eden Cup, given by Mr Anthony Eden, and won a week’s holiday in any New Zealand centre she may choose. The results were:— Morva Jones, 1; Gillian . Parkers, (Girls’ College. Wanganui), 2; Raywin Clark (Southland Girls’ High School), 3; Barbara Grant (Girls' College Nel•on) was highly commended. i
