STRANDING OF WAHINE
MR MCLAGAN REPLIES TO “THE PRESS”
The following reply to a leading article in “The Press* on August 31 has been received from Mr A. McLagan:—
“C.aught in the act of suppressing the news that the Wahine was sent away without radar, ‘The Press’ tries to usurp the role of Crown Prosecutor and invites its readers to question my motive for calling attention to its own misdemeanour. ‘The Press’ should remember that as the criminal in the dock its duty is to answer questions, not to ask them. I invite ‘The Press’ to tell its readers why it refused to publish the important news that the Wahine had no radar and why it still refused to publish the news even when offered payment at advertising rates.”
