Mr J. Wilson was made a life-member of th* New Brighton Power Boat Club at the annual meeting of the club recently. Opening day was fixed for October 13. The following officers . were elected : patron, Mr J. L. Hay: president, Mr E. E. Coombes; vice-presidents, Messrs Ernest Adams, T. H. Langford, J. Mathison, Ern. Smith, and L. G. Amos; commodore, Mr H. J. S. Harrington; vice-commodore, Mr D. V. Syme rear-commodore, Mr F. Turner; club captaiß, Mr R. Connor; honorary treasurer, Mr D. V. Syme; honorary secretary, Mr P. Nelson; assistant-secre-tarv, Mr L. Haxell; custodian, Mr J. N. Harle; auditor, Mr R. E. Russell; committee, Messrs E. Duncan, J. Barbour, A. B. Johnson, J. Younger, M. Roberts, E. W. Phillips, S. Smith, and J. Caukwell.
