INTERMEDIATE SCHOOLS

Sir. —I was very intrigued with the statement made bv “Teacher” in Tuesday’s issue, that the intermediate school system had “completely wrecked our primary school system. ’ Such a wide statement, without at least a little explanation, is hardly worthy of notice. As a teacher and parent I have found one intermediate school excellent, and I have every reason to believe that all are as good. Any system can fail if parents, acting against advice and common sense, insist on their children taking a course for which they are obviously unsuited, but which course is absolutely necessary to keep up with the children next door. —Yours, etc.. ANOTHER TEACHER. August 30. 1951.
