SUEZ CANAL DISPUTE
EGYPT WELCOMES SOVIET STAND ' (Rec. 7 p.m.) CAIRO. August 30. The Egyptian Foreign Minister (Dr. Salah el Din Pasha) said to-day that Russia’s intervention in the Suez Canal issue now before the Security Council had not' embarrassed Egypt in the least. “In fact, we earnestly hope that the Soviet Union will continue to stand by Egypt’s side and so deserve Egypt’s increased gratitude,” he said.
