HIGHLAND FLING

PLANS FOR USE AS SIRE

(Rec. 11 p.m.) SYDNEY, August 30. A Richmond (New South Wales) breeder. Mr W. Rose, plans artificially to inseminate trotting horses in Australia and New Zealand at 100 guineas a service.

Mr Rose will use the former New Zealand champion pacer. Highland Fling, as a sire. Highland Fling Is standing the season at Mr Rose's stud at 200 guineas. Horse-owners who use the artificial insemination method will have the sire’s services at half cost.

Mr Rose said to-day that artificial insemination would save New Zealand and Inter-State breeders the Inconvenience and expense of sending mares to Richmond. Artificial insemination containers would be sent to New Zealand by aeroplane. Artificial insemination had been successful in Europe and America, he said.
