WAIMATE WINS THIRD GRADE . TOURNAMENT

I Waimate won the South Island third ' grade basketball championship at Hokitika by beating Canterbury by 16 points to 13 in the final to-day. Canterbury beat Hokitika A, 8-7, in a game to decide the runner-up. Otago and Southland, the only unbeaten teams up to last night, were both beaten to-day. To-day’s results were;— Waimate 24, Otago 13: Hokitika A 18, Temuka B 12; Temuka A 16, Motueka 11; North Otago 20, Hokitika Reserve 11: Canterbury 18, Southland 13: West Coast 16, Hokitika B 11; Canterbury 15, Hokitika A 14; Otago 19. Temuka A 12; Canterbury 13. Southland 11; Waimate 20, Otago 19; HokitiKa A 7, Otago 5; Hokitika A 7, Southland X
