CERCLE FRANCAIS
Mr Gordon Troup presided over the August meeting of the Cercle Francais. The hostesses for the evening were Miss Gross, Mrs H. Dykes and Mrs Mence. Songs by Faure. Hahn and Debussy were sung by Miss Dorothea Charters. A beautiful sonata for violin and piano by Jean-Baptiste Senaillie (eighteenth century) was clayed by Miss Romola Griffiths and Mrs Maisie McNair. This was followed by “Le Cygpe” (Saint-Saens). Literary competitions completed the evening, which was attended by about 40 members.
