ST. An i)REWS“The Preu" Special Service, TIMARU, August 30. Quality was very mixed in the yarding of 75 head of fat cattie at the St. Andrews sale to-day. and as a consequence values for all grades fluctuated, prime sorts being in most demand. The store cattle penning was also a mixed one with well-bred cattle bringing most attention. The small yarding of Store sheep included several pens of hoggets and ewe*, values for which held firm at late rates.

Fat Cattle.—Prime heavy steers, £34 2s 6d to £3B 12s 8d; prime steers. £27 2s 6d to £32 12s fld; light to medium steers. £lB 2s 6d to £24 17s 6d; prime heavy heifers, £3O to £33 2s 6d; light to medium heifers, £l7 to £24 17 « heavy cows, £2B 2s 6d to £3l 12s 6d, light to medium cows, £8 to £l6 10s. Store Cattle.—Bulls. £7 15s to £8 15s; yearling steers and heifers, £8 7g 6d to £ll 2s 6d; two-year steers and Tietiers, £l4 5s to £lB 6s; three-year steers to £l9 Store Sheep.—Small wether hoggets (shorn), to 335; wether hoggets (woolly), to 545; ms. hogget* to 60s; full-mouthed ewes. 58s to 81s; ewes and lambs to 445; two-tooth wethers (woolly), 76s 6d to 80s.
