Election “Practice”
“You now have a grand opportunity to practise for Saturday,” said the chairman (the Rev. H. J. Odell) at the annual synod of the Methodist Church in North Canterbury yesterday, when asking members to register their votes for the chairman-elect of the district. Mr Odell’s remarks were well received by synod and were answered by such remarks as “Shorter hours,” and “Has the chairman any promises.”
