SUPERANNUATION BENEFITS
NATIONAL PARTY’S PROPOSALS
OPERATION AS SOON AS POSSIBLE (New Zealand Prats Association)
NAPIER, August 29. The universal superannuation benefits provided for in the National Party's policy would be paid to those qualifying for them as soon as the Government could get the necessary machinery organised—probably by the end of the year, said the Prime Minister (Mr Holland), in an election address to-night. The question had been raised by many guperannuitants, Mr Holland said. Superannuation was paid in quarterly instalments, and it was hoped to make the first payment as soon as the necessary arrangements could be made. Many thousands of forms had to be prepared "I hope it will be within four months at the outside, 1 ' said Mr Holland. "If it is possible in two months, we shall do our best.”
