Time Off For Voting

All factories, shops, offices, and business premises in which workers are employed must be closed not later than 2 p.m. on polling day. under the electoral law. This applies to all workers employed on any constructional work. Employers in these cases may not make deductions from pay due for time after the closing hour of 2 p.m. Where any worker is required to carry on after 2 p.m. on esesntial work or services he must be allowed reasonable time off to record his vote. No deduction shall be made from his pay for any time, not more than three hours, spent in recording hU vote.
