PEACE TREATY FOR JAPAN
Soviet To Present Own Proposals (NS. Press Association—Copyright) (Rec. 1030 p.m.) NEW YORK, August 27. The Soviet Union would present its proposals lor a peace treaty with Japan at the forthcoming San Francisco conference, the Soviet Deputy-Foreign Minister (Mr Andrei Gromyko) said to-day on his arrival in flew York in the liner Queen Elizabeth. “The Soviet delegation is coming to the Sah Francisco inference to ta.<e part m the consideration of very important questions concerning peace with Japan,” he said, reading from i prepared statement. * Go .y« r nment has already stated, the delegao* a f the U.S.S.R. will submit its own proposals on the peace treaty with Japan. Naturally "these proposals will be disclosed the conference itself. “We hope they will be supported by all those who are interested m a peace treaty with Japan which would lay the foundation for the establishment of normal relations with jgpan and other nations, especially those who suffered most from Japanese aggression, and consequently lay the foundatiwig for a durable peace m the Far East.”
