TALENT QUEST BEGINS
The annual talent quest of the Salvation Army was opened last evening at the Citadel by the Divisional Commander, Senior Major E. R. Saqsom, before a large and enthusiastic audience. Competitors were present from Temuka and AshburtoMr W. B. Blacklock judged the pianoforte, and Mrs H. Reeves, who had associated with her Miss Myra Boot, judged the vocal numbers. Results:— Pianoforte Solo.-Special group: Norman Johnson (73 points) 1, John Beasy (72) 2, Beverley Johnson (65) 3- Under 13 years, learning under two years: Heather Grant (71) 1, Shirley Johnson (69) 2, Erica Knight (63) 3. Thirteen years learning over two years: Lance Rive (85) 1, Margaret Richardson (76) 2, Kathleen Sansom (73) 3 Under 17 years, learning under two years: Margaret Elliot. Seventeen years, learning over two years: Neomi Thomas (79) 1, Beverley Frew (77) 2, Dorothy Emmerson (76) 3. Under 25. Joy Emmerson (71) 1, K. Skilton (70) 2.
